Who should get remedial massage?

Remedial massage is ideal for people who are new to massage, sensitive to touch and have a lot of muscular tension. The benefits of massage are therapeutic and can help to remedy muscle pain and other body dysfunction. For those with chronic muscle soreness/ imbalance/injuries, advanced remedial massage, also known as deep tissue massage, is more suitable. The massage therapist will use deep finger pressure to relieve tension from the deepest layers of your muscles and connective tissues. There are other several types of massage available. Your massage therapist will discuss with you which is more suitable, and which will give you the best outcome possible.

When should I see a massage therapist?

Massage itself is therapeutic and can often resolve your aches and pains, as well as reduce stress levels. There is no bad time to come in for a massage session. For the sporting population, you might come in for prehab or rehab to help prevent or resolve injuries. If you are experiencing body aches, stress and muscle tension during pregnancy, pregnancy massage can be beneficial, but it is not recommended in your first trimester. If you suffer chronic pain or condition such as arthritis or scoliosis, remedial massage can help reduce muscular tension around your painful joint. Even during the early stages of post-operative conditions such as a knee or hip replacement, gentle remedial massage may help with pain and increase your flexibility and joint range of motion.

What should I expect in my remedial massage session?

Once you have made a booking with us online or over the phone, you will be reminded of your appointment the day before through SMS. On the day, you will be greeted by our massage therapist and a form will be given to you to fill out. This form will be asking information regarding your current condition, issues and/or specific things you want to focus on.

Our massage therapist will take you into the room and consolidate your needs. You will then be asked to undress whilst our massage therapist waits outside the room. The following service/s may be provided:

Remedial massage Hot stone massage
Advance remedial massage Reflexology
Trigger point massage Pregnancy massage
Sports massage Chair massage

Our massage therapist uses coconut oil and fisiocrem (if needed), heat packs and warm towels and will remove excess oil once your massage is finished.
