Sleep and Mental Health

Sleep and mental health are intimately linked. We all know that after a sleepless night we can feel a bit tired and irritable, but most of us can bounce back after a good night’s sleep. The risk of developing depression doubles for people who suffer from chronic sleep problems as they have more difficulty recognising and managing emotions. It is recommended that an average person should have between 7-8 hours of sleep per night to be fully rested and avoid mental health problems.
